“And now I declare the truth to you: See, three more sovereigns are to arise in Persia, and the fourth is to become far richer than them all. And by his power, through his riches, he stirs up all against the rulership of Greece.


“And a mighty sovereign shall arise, and he shall rule with great authority, and do as he pleases.


“And after you rises up another reign lower than yours, and another third reign of bronze that rules over all the earth.


“After this I looked and saw another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and rule was given to it.


“The ram which you saw, having two horns, are the sovereigns of Media and Persia.


“And that it was broken and four stood up in its place: are four rulerships arising out of that nation, but not in its power.


“For I shall bend Yehuḏah for Me, I shall fill the bow with Ephrayim, and I shall stir up your sons, O Tsiyon, against your sons, O Greece, and I shall make you like the sword of a mighty man.”
