9 “And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are on the earth.

Then Dawiḏ spoke to יהוה the words of this song, on the day when יהוה had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Sha’ul.


“For with You I run against a band, With my Elohim I leap over a wall.


“And I beat them as dust of the earth, I beat them small as dirt in the streets – I spread them out.


And these are the last words of Dawiḏ, the saying of Dawiḏ son of Yishai, the saying of the man raised above, the anointed of the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ, and the sweet singer of Yisra’ĕl:


And Dawiḏ went on and became great, and יהוה Elohim of hosts was with him.


And Dawiḏ made a name for himself when he returned from striking eighteen thousand Arameans in the Valley of Salt.


And he put watch-posts in Eḏom. Throughout all Eḏom he put watch-posts, and all the Eḏomites became Dawiḏ’s servants. And יהוה saved Dawiḏ wherever he went.


Then Dawiḏ put watch-posts in Aram of Dammeseq. And the Arameans became Dawiḏ’s servants, and brought presents. And יהוה saved Dawiḏ wherever he went.


“And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth.


For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him glad with the joy of Your presence.


And I shall beat down His adversaries before his face, And plague those who hate him.”


“He brought down rulers from their thrones, and exalted the lowly.


And יהוה was with Yehoshua, and a report about him was in all the land.


And Dawiḏ was acting wisely in all his ways, and יהוה was with him.


And the princes of the Philistines went out to fight. And it came to be, whenever they went out, that Dawiḏ acted more wisely than all the servants of Sha’ul, so that his name came to be very precious.


“He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the dunghill, to sit with princes, and make them inherit a throne of esteem. For the supports of the earth belong to יהוה, and He has set the world upon them.


Thus Sha’ul died, and three of his sons, and his armour-bearer, also all his men, together on that day.


They then sent the ark of Elohim to Eqron. And it came to be, as the ark of Elohim came to Eqron, that the Eqronites cried out, saying, “They have removed the ark of the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl to us, to kill us and our people!”
