21 For Yozaḵar son of Shim‛ath and Yehozaḇaḏ son of Shomĕr, his servants, struck him. So he died, and they buried him with his fathers in the City of Dawiḏ. And Amatsyah his son reigned in his place.

And Dawiḏ dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of Dawiḏ. And Dawiḏ built all around from the Millo and inward.


Then Ba‛asha son of Aḥiyah, of the house of Yissasḵar, conspired against him. And Ba‛asha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, for Naḏaḇ and all Yisra’ĕl had laid siege to Gibbethon.


And it came to be, in the morning, that he went out and stood, and said to all the people, “You are righteous. Look, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who struck all these?


In the twenty-third year of Yo’ash son of Aḥazyahu, sovereign of Yehuḏah, Yeho’aḥaz son of Yĕhu began to reign over Yisra’ĕl in Shomeron, and reigned seventeen years.


In the second year of Yo’ash son of Yo’aḥaz, sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, Amatsyahu son of Yo’ash, sovereign of Yehuḏah, began to reign.


And they made a conspiracy against him in Yerushalayim, and he fled to Laḵish. And they sent after him to Laḵish and killed him there,


And it came to be, as soon as the reign was strengthened in his hand, that he struck his servants who had stricken his father the sovereign.


And Shallum son of Yaḇĕsh conspired against him, and struck him in front of the people, and killed him, and reigned in his place.


Thus Yĕhu son of Yehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Yoram – now Yoram had been guarding Ramoth Gil‛aḏ, he and all Yisra’ĕl, against Ḥaza’ĕl sovereign of Aram.


And Aḥazyah sovereign of Yehuḏah saw this and fled up the way to Bĕyth Haggan. And Yĕhu pursued him, and said, “Strike him, him too, in the chariot,” at the ascent to Gur, which is by Yiḇle‛am. And he fled to Meḡiddo, and died there.


And when they had withdrawn from him – for they left him very sick – his own servants conspired against him because of the blood of the sons of Yehoyaḏa the priest, and killed him on his bed, and he died. And they buried him in the City of Dawiḏ, but they did not bury him in the burial-sites of the sovereigns.
