And Dawiḏ was acting wisely in all his ways, and יהוה was with him.


And the princes of the Philistines went out to fight. And it came to be, whenever they went out, that Dawiḏ acted more wisely than all the servants of Sha’ul, so that his name came to be very precious.


Yehonathan then called Dawiḏ, and Yehonathan told him all these words. So Yehonathan brought Dawiḏ to Sha’ul, and he was in his presence as before.


And an evil spirit from יהוה came upon Sha’ul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And Dawiḏ was playing the lyre with his hand,


So Dawiḏ and his men went to Qe‛ilah and fought with the Philistines, and he led away their livestock and struck them, a great smiting. Thus Dawiḏ saved the inhabitants of Qe‛ilah.
