15 And this is the purpose of the compulsory labour which Sovereign Shelomoh raised, to build the House of יהוה, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Yerushalayim, and Ḥatsor, and Meḡiddo, and Gezer –

And Dawiḏ dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of Dawiḏ. And Dawiḏ built all around from the Millo and inward.


And this is what caused him to lift up a hand against the sovereign: Shelomoh had built Millo, repairing the breaks in the City of Dawiḏ his father.


“Your father made our yoke hard, and now, lighten the hard service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, then we serve you.”


And Shelomoh joined in marriage with Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim, and took the daughter of Pharaoh, and brought her to the City of Dawiḏ until he had completed building his own house, and the House of יהוה, and the wall all around Yerushalayim.


Ba‛ana son of Aḥiluḏ, in Ta‛anaḵ and Meḡiddo, and all Bĕyth She’an, which is beside Tsarethan below Yizre‛ĕl, from Bĕyth She’an to Aḇĕl Meḥolah, as far as the other side of Yoqne‛am;


And Sovereign Shelomoh raised up compulsory labour out of all Yisra’ĕl. And the compulsory labour was thirty thousand men.


And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, the eighth new moon, the house was completed in all its matters and according to all its plans. Thus he built it for seven years.


And it came to be, at the end of twenty years, that Shelomoh had built the two houses, the House of יהוה and the house of the sovereign.


their descendants who were left in the land after them, whom the children of Yisra’ĕl had not been able to destroy completely – from these Shelomoh raised compulsory labour, as it is to this day.


But the daughter of Pharaoh came up from the City of Dawiḏ to her house that he built for her. Then he built Millo.


And his servants rose up and made a conspiracy, and smote Yo’ash in the house of Millo, which goes down to Silla.


In the days of Peqaḥ sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, Tiḡlath-Pileser sovereign of Ashshur came and took Iyon, and Aḇĕl Bĕyth Ma‛aḵah, and Yanowaḥ, and Qeḏesh, and Ḥatsor, and Gil‛aḏ, and Galil, all the land of Naphtali, and took them into exile to Ashshur.


And Aḥazyah sovereign of Yehuḏah saw this and fled up the way to Bĕyth Haggan. And Yĕhu pursued him, and said, “Strike him, him too, in the chariot,” at the ascent to Gur, which is by Yiḇle‛am. And he fled to Meḡiddo, and died there.


And afterward it came to be that fighting broke out at Gezer with the Philistines. Then Sibbeḵai the Ḥushathite struck Sippai of the sons of the giant, and they were humbled.


And they gave them the cities of refuge: Sheḵem with its open lands, in the mountains of Ephrayim, and Gezer with its open lands,


However, Yoshiyahu would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself to fight against him, and did not listen to the words of Neḵo from the mouth of Elohim, and came to fight in the Valley of Meḡiddo.


And it came to be at the end of twenty years, that Shelomoh had built the House of יהוה, and his own house.


Do good in Your good pleasure to Tsiyon; Build the walls of Yerushalayim.


“In that day the mourning in Yerushalayim is going to be great, like the mourning at Haḏaḏ Rimmon in the valley of Meḡiddo.


Then Horam sovereign of Gezer came up to help Laḵish. And Yehoshua struck him and his people, until he left him no survivor.


And it came to be, when Yaḇin sovereign of Ḥatsor heard, that he sent to Yoḇaḇ sovereign of Maḏon, and to the sovereign of Shimron, and to the sovereign of Aḵshaph,


And they did not drive out the Kena‛anites who dwelt in Gezer, so the Kena‛anites dwell among the Ephrayimites to this day and have become compulsory labour.


and went down westward to the boundary of the Yaphlĕtites, as far as the boundary of Lower Bĕyth Ḥoron to Gezer, and it ended at the sea.


And in Yissasḵar and in Ashĕr, Menashsheh had Bĕyth She’an and its towns, and Yiḇle‛am and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Ěn Dor and its towns, and the inhabitants of Ta‛anaḵ and its towns, and the inhabitants of Meḡiddo and its towns – three of the heights.


and Aḏamah, and Ramah, and Ḥatsor,


And they gave them Sheḵem with its open land in the mountains of Ephrayim as a city of refuge for the man-slayer, and Gezer with its open land,


Neither did Ephrayim drive out the Kena‛anites who dwelt in Gezer, so the Kena‛anites dwelt in their midst, in Gezer.


Therefore יהוה sold them into the hand of Yaḇin the sovereign of Kena‛an, who reigned in Ḥatsor. And the commander of his army was Sisera, who was dwelling in Ḥarosheth Haggoyim.


“Sovereigns came, they fought, then the sovereigns of Kena‛an fought in Ta‛anaḵ, by the waters of Meḡiddo; they took no spoils of silver.


“But if not, let fire come out from Aḇimeleḵ and devour the masters of Sheḵem and Bĕyth Millo, and let fire come out from the masters of Sheḵem and from Bĕyth Millo and devour Aḇimeleḵ!”


And all the masters of Sheḵem gathered together, and all of Bĕyth Millo, and they went and made Aḇimeleḵ sovereign beside the terebinth tree at the post that was in Sheḵem.
