1 Kings 3:26 - The Scriptures 2009

26 And the woman whose son was living spoke to the sovereign, for she was overcome with compassion for her son. And she said, “O my master, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!” But the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”

And the sovereign said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”


And the sovereign answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him – she is his mother.”


My heart was hot within me; While I was meditating, the fire burned. Then I spoke with my tongue:


“Would a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Though they forget, I never forget you.


“Is Ephrayim a precious son to Me, a child of delights? For though I spoke against him, I still remembered him. That is why My affections were deeply moved for him. I have great compassion for him,” declares יהוה.


“How could I give you up, Ephrayim? How could I hand you over, Yisra’ĕl? How could I make you like Aḏmah? How could I set you like Tseḇoyim? My heart turns within Me, all My compassion is kindled.


without discernment, covenant breakers, unloving, unforgiving, ruthless;


For Elohim is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of יהושע Messiah.


If, then, there is any encouragement in Messiah, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of Spirit, if any affection and compassion,


unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, haters of good,


But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his tender affections from him, how does the love of Elohim stay in him?
