10 “As יהוה your Elohim lives, there is no nation or reign where my master has not sent to look for you. And when they said, ‘He is not here,’ he made the reign or nation swear that they could not find you.

And the sovereign took an oath and said, “As יהוה lives, who has ransomed my life out of all distress,


And Ěliyahu the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gil‛aḏ, said to Aḥaḇ, “As יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew or rain these years, except at my word.”


And she said, “As יהוה your Elohim lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar. And see, I am gathering a couple of sticks and shall go in and prepare it for myself and my son, and we shall eat it, and die.”


And he went and did according to the word of יהוה, for he went and dwelt by the wadi Kerith, which flows into the Yardĕn.


“Rise up, go to Tsarephath, which belongs to Tsiḏon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.”


“And now you say, ‘Go, say to your master, “Ěliyahu is here” ’!


And Ěliyahu said, “As יהוה of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I shall indeed show myself to him today.”


And he said, “What have I sinned, that you are giving your servant into the hand of Aḥaḇ, to kill me?


“And now, as יהוה lives, who established me and set me on the throne of Dawiḏ my father, and who has made me a house, as He promised, Aḏoniyahu shall be put to death today!”


And Miḵayehu said, “As יהוה lives, whatever יהוה says to me, that I speak.”


In arrogance the wrongdoer hotly pursues the poor; They are caught by the schemes which they devised.


In the secrecy of Your presence You shall hide them from the plots of man; You shelter them in a booth from the strife of tongues.


He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Who abides under the shadow of the Almighty,


Then the heads said to Baruḵ, “Go, hide, you and Yirmeyahu, and let no one know where you are.”


And the sovereign commanded Yeraḥme’ĕl son of the sovereign, and Serayahu son of Azri’ĕl, and Shelemyahu son of Aḇde’ĕl, to seize Baruḵ the scribe and Yirmeyahu the prophet, but יהוה had hid them.


Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but יהושע was hidden and went out of the Set-apart Place, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.


“So look, and learn all about the hiding places where he hides. And you shall come back to me with certainty, then I shall go with you. And it shall be, if he is in the land, that I shall search for him throughout all the clans of Yehuḏah.”


And Aḵish called Dawiḏ and said to him, “As יהוה lives, you have been straight, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my eyes. For to this day I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me. But in the eyes of the princes you are not good.
