Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight!


and they invited the people to the slaughterings of their mighty ones, and the people ate and bowed down to their mighty ones.


Now then, why do you try Elohim by putting a yoke on the neck of the taught ones which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?”


that you abstain from what is offered to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and whoring. If you keep yourselves from these, you shall do well. Be strong!


“But concerning the nations who believe, we have written and decided that they should keep themselves from what is offered to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and whoring.”


For I do not wish you to be ignorant of this secret, brothers, lest you should be wise in your own estimation, that hardening in part has come over Yisra’ĕl, until the completeness of the nations has come in.


Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not be proud in mind, but go along with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.


But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Messiah.


I know and am persuaded in the Master יהושע that none at all is common of itself. But to him who regards whatever to be common, to him it is common.


So, then, let us pursue the matters of peace and the matters for building up one another.


Do you have belief? Have it to yourself before Elohim. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.


He that eats, let him not despise him who does not eat, and he that does not eat, let him not judge him who eats, for Elohim received him.


Now I myself am persuaded concerning you, my brothers, that you too are filled with goodness, complete in all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.


that in Him you were enriched in all – in every word and all knowledge –


I speak as to wise men, judge for yourselves what I say.


And if anyone says to you, “This was slaughtered to idols,” do not eat it because of the one pointing it out to you, and on account of the conscience, for “The earth belongs to יהוה, and all that fills it.”


Brothers, do not be children in your thinking, but in evil be babes, and in your thinking be perfect.


Wake up to soberness, righteously, and do not sin, for some do not have the knowledge of Elohim. I speak this to your shame.


We are fools for the sake of Messiah, but you are wise in Messiah! We are weak, but you are strong! You are in esteem, but we are not appreciated!


Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.


And these matters, brothers, I have applied in a figure to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you might learn not to think beyond what is written, so that none of you be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.


And you have been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, so that he who has done this deed, be removed from among you!


Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the entire lump?


If anyone thinks that he knows somewhat, he does not yet know as he should know.


So then, concerning the eating of food offered to idols, we know that an idol is no matter at all in the world, and that there is no other Elohim but one.


However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being aware of the idol, until now eat it as having been offered to an idol, so their conscience, being weak, is defiled.


from whom the entire body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the working by which each part does its share, causes growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.


Let no one deprive you of the prize, one who takes delight in false humility and worship of messengers, taking his stand on what he has not seen, puffed up by his fleshly mind,


“But I hold a few matters against you, because you have there those who adhere to the teaching of Bil‛am, who taught Balaq to put a stumbling-block before the children of Yisra’ĕl, to eat food offered to idols, and to commit whoring.


“But I hold against you that you allow that woman Izeḇel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and lead My servants astray to commit whoring and to eat food offered to idols.
