4 And he appointed some of the Lĕwites to serve before the ark of יהוה, to bring to remembrance, and to thank, and to praise יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl:

And He said, “Your name is no longer called Ya‛aqoḇ, but Yisra’ĕl, because you have striven with Elohim and with men, and have overcome.”


And he set up a slaughter-place there and called it Ěl Elohĕ Yisra’ĕl.


And he said, “Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, who spoke with His mouth to my father Dawiḏ, and with His hand has filled it, saying,


And Dawiḏ spoke to the leaders of the Lĕwites to appoint their brothers the singers with instruments of song, harps, and lyres, and cymbals, to lift up the voice with joy.


and gave a portion to everyone of Yisra’ĕl, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a measure, and a cake of raisins.


Asaph the chief, and his second Zeḵaryah, Ye‛i’ĕl, and Shemiramoth, and Yeḥi’ĕl, and Mattithyah, and Eliyaḇ, and Benayahu, and Oḇĕḏ-Eḏom, and Ye‛i’ĕl, with harps and lyres, but Asaph was sounding with cymbals;


Give thanks to יהוה, call upon His Name, Make known His deeds among the peoples!


And Dawiḏ, with Tsaḏoq of the sons of El‛azar, and Aḥimeleḵ of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their offices in their service.


And Dawiḏ and the commanders of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, and of Hĕman, and of Yeḏuthun, who should prophesy with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals. And the number of the workmen according to their service was:


And these are the men whom Dawiḏ appointed over the service of song in the House of יהוה, after the ark came to rest.


Then it came to be, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking יהוה, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets, and with cymbals, and with instruments of song, and giving praise to יהוה, “For He is good, for His loving-commitment is everlasting,” that the house, the House of יהוה, was filled with a cloud,


And when the builders laid the foundation of the Hĕḵal of יהוה, they appointed the priests in their robes, with trumpets, and the Lĕwites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise יהוה, after the order of Dawiḏ sovereign of Yisra’ĕl.


And the heads of the Lĕwites were Ḥashaḇyah, Shĕrĕḇyah, and Yĕshua son of Qaḏmi’ĕl, with their brothers opposite them, to praise, to give thanks, watch opposite watch, according to the command of Dawiḏ the man of Elohim.


Bless יהוה, O my being, And do not forget all His dealings,


Remember His wonders which He has done, His miracles, and the right-rulings of His mouth,


Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people shall say, “Amĕn!” Praise Yah!


Aleph Do not fret because of evil-doers, Do not be envious of the workers of unrighteousness.


O Elohim, deliver me! Hasten to my help, O יהוה!


Blessed be יהוה Elohim, Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, He alone is doing wonders!
