The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but he loves him who pursues righteousness.


He who pursues righteousness and kindness will find life and honor.


“Hearken to me, you who pursue deliverance, you who seek the Lord; look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were digged.


For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.


Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”


But the righteousness based on faith says, Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down)


But if our wickedness serves to show the justice of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.)


He received circumcision as a sign or seal of the righteousness which he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them,


The promise to Abraham and his descendants, that they should inherit the world, did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.


That is why his faith was “reckoned to him as righteousness.”


Is this blessing pronounced only upon the circumcised, or also upon the uncircumcised? We say that faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.


Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.


What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!


but that Israel who pursued the righteousness which is based on law did not succeed in fulfilling that law.


yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified.


So that the law was our custodian until Christ came, that we might be justified by faith.


And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”


For through the Spirit, by faith, we wait for the hope of righteousness.


remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.


and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own, based on law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith;


But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.


By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.


Let the time that is past suffice for doing what the Gentiles like to do, living in licentiousness, passions, drunkenness, revels, carousing, and lawless idolatry.
