He who is greedy for unjust gain makes trouble for his household, but he who hates bribes will live.


Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.


Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight.

Lest you be wise in your own conceits, I want you to understand this mystery, brethren: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles come in,


Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; never be conceited.


Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never fail you nor forsake you.”
