The beginning of strife is like letting out water; so quit before the quarrel breaks out.


A fool's lips bring strife, and his mouth invites a flogging.


Good sense makes a man slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.


“Scoffer” is the name of the proud, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride.


He who meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears.


and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.


But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.


What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members?
