The high priest then questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.


When he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, “Is that how you answer the high priest?”


looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.


When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly.
