7 “But if he cannot afford a lamb, then he shall bring, as his guilt offering to the Lord for the sin which he has committed, two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

And if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.”


And he shall offer, of the turtledoves or young pigeons such as he can afford,


one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, along with a cereal offering; and the priest shall make atonement before the Lord for him who is being cleansed.

“This is the law of the guilt offering. It is most holy;


And say to the people of Israel, ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both a year old without blemish, for a burnt offering,


“Say to the people of Israel, When a man or woman commits any of the sins that men commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person is guilty,


On the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest to the door of the tent of meeting,


and the priest shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead body. And he shall consecrate his head that same day,


“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.


And Jesus entered the temple of God and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons.


And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him;


and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”


For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he has not.
