The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.


They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry; and when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will curse their king and their God, and turn their faces upward;


When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape.


And in their greed they will exploit you with false words; from of old their condemnation has not been idle, and their destruction has not been asleep.


And every one who is left in your house shall come to implore him for a piece of silver or a loaf of bread, and shall say, “Put me, I pray you, in one of the priest's places, that I may eat a morsel of bread.” ’ ”


Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn.
