19 Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? Does thy soul loathe Zion? Why hast thou smitten us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; for a time of healing, but behold, terror.

For Israel and Judah have not been forsaken by their God, the Lord of hosts; but the land of the Chaldeans is full of guilt against the Holy One of Israel.


Refuse silver they are called, for the Lord has rejected them.”


Cut off your hair and cast it away; raise a lamentation on the bare heights, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.’

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored?

Or hast thou utterly rejected us? Art thou exceedingly angry with us?

When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape.
