5 And have you forgotten the exhortation which addresses you as sons?— “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor lose courage when you are punished by him.

And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.

It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?


I appeal to you, brethren, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.


Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.


Those whom I love, I reprove and chasten; so be zealous and repent.
