After they finished speaking, James replied, “Brethren, listen to me.


And after there had been much debate, Peter rose and said to them, “Brethren, you know that in the early days God made choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.


Thus Joseph who was surnamed by the apostles Barnabas (which means, Son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus,


through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations,


For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him.


But on some points I have written to you very boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God which is with me.


I think that I am not in the least inferior to these superlative apostles.


I have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was not at all inferior to these superlative apostles, even though I am nothing.


begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints—


was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not confer with flesh and blood,


Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas, and remained with him fifteen days.


Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me.


I went up by revelation; and I laid before them (but privately before those who were of repute) the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, lest somehow I should be running or had run in vain.


For if any one thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.


built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,


To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,


For this I toil, striving with all the energy which he mightily inspires within me.


if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.


that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.


He who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
