4 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.


Then the people of Israel went and did so; as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.


The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth my hand upon Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them.”


but for this purpose have I let you live, to show you my power, so that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they dwelt, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.


and say, Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and I will manifest my glory in the midst of you. And they shall know that I am the Lord when I execute judgments in her, and manifest my holiness in her;


When I make the land of Egypt desolate and when the land is stripped of all that fills it, when I smite all who dwell in it, then they will know that I am the Lord.


you will come up against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land. In the latter days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when through you, O Gog, I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.


So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.


All the people of the land will bury them; and it will redound to their honor on the day that I show my glory, says the Lord God.


Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said, ‘I will show myself holy among those who are near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’ ” And Aaron held his peace.


as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that should not see and ears that should not hear, down to this very day.”


For the scripture says to Pharaoh, “I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing my power in you, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”


So then he has mercy upon whomever he wills, and he hardens the heart of whomever he wills.


For it was the Lord's doing to harden their hearts that they should come against Israel in battle, in order that they should be utterly destroyed, and should receive no mercy but be exterminated, as the Lord commanded Moses.


And I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin's army, to meet you by the river Kishon with his chariots and his troops; and I will give him into your hand.’ ”
