9 And it shall be to you as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.

And Moses said to the people, “Remember this day, in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage, for by strength of hand the Lord brought you out from this place; no leavened bread shall be eaten.


So I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all the wonders which I will do in it; after that he will let you go.


Pharaoh will not listen to you; then I will lay my hand upon Egypt and bring forth my hosts, my people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.


for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck.


My son, keep sound wisdom and discretion; let them not escape from your sight,


till an arrow pierces its entrails; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.


Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame.


In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.


Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.


This one will say, ‘I am the Lord's,’ another will call himself by the name of Jacob, and another will write on his hand, ‘The Lord's,’ and surname himself by the name of Israel.”


Behold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the dragon?


“And as for me, this is my covenant with them, say the Lord: my spirit which is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your children, or out of the mouth of your children's children, says the Lord, from this time forth and for evermore.”

And now, O Lord our God, who didst bring thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast made thee a name, as at this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly.


The Lord utters his voice before his army, for his host is exceedingly great; he that executes his word is powerful. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; who can endure it?


and it shall be to you a tassel to look upon and remember all the commandments of the Lord, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to go after wantonly.


They do all their deeds to be seen by men; for they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long,


But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach);


But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.


You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out thence with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.


then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;


And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart;


And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.


so shall her plagues come in a single day, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she shall be burned with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”


and they forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; they went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were round about them, and bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger.
