18 “And I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘The Lord your God has given you this land to possess; all your men of valor shall pass over armed before your brethren the people of Israel.

and gave their land as a heritage, for his steadfast love endures for ever;


and you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it.


“These are the statutes and ordinances which you shall be careful to do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you to possess, all the days that you live upon the earth.


But there will be no poor among you (for the Lord will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance to possess),


“In the inheritance which you will hold in the land that the Lord your God gives you to possess, you shall not remove your neighbor's landmark, which the men of old have set.


you shall set apart three cities for you in the land which the Lord your God gives you to possess.


Therefore I command you, You shall set apart three cities.


“If in the land which the Lord your God gives you to possess, any one is found slain, lying in the open country, and it is not known who killed him,


Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies round about, in the land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget.


But you, stand here by me, and I will tell you all the commandment and the statutes and the ordinances which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.’


“Now this is the commandment, the statutes and the ordinances which the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it;


“Know therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness; for you are a stubborn people.


“Pass through the camp, and command the people, ‘Prepare your provisions; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to take possession of the land which the Lord your God gives you to possess.’ ”
