But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up, and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.”


But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked fellows of the rabble, they gathered a crowd, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the people.


The kings of the earth set themselves in array, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against his Anointed’—


with Annas the high priest and Caiaphas and John and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family.


The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.


“And the patriarchs, jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt; but God was with him,


envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.


Or do you suppose it is in vain that the scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us”?


So put away all malice and all guile and insincerity and envy and all slander.
