And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the book of the law.


And they stood up in their place and read from the book of the law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; for another fourth of it they made confession and worshiped the Lord their God.


Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.


And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”


Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.


Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.


On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”


Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, “Peace be with you.”


And when he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.


And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.


And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts,


And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long while, until daybreak, and so departed.


Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears.


These went on and were waiting for us at Troas,


And a young man named Eutychus was sitting in the window. He sank into a deep sleep as Paul talked still longer; and being overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.


When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in great numbers. And he expounded the matter to them from morning till evening, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the law of Moses and from the prophets.


The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?


But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God which is with me.


On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that contributions need not be made when I come.


preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching.


I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet
