serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which befell me through the plots of the Jews;


On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the morrow; and he prolonged his speech until midnight.


Now after some years I came to bring to my nation alms and offerings.


I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.


For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, live as enemies of the cross of Christ.


Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ.


And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the idlers, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.


Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you this?


we did not eat any one's bread without paying, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you.


As for you, always be steady, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil your ministry.


Obey your leaders and submit to them; for they are keeping watch over your souls, as men who will have to give account. Let them do this joyfully, and not sadly, for that would be of no advantage to you.
