When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John to assist them.


And he came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer; but his father was a Greek.


Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews that were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.


When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with preaching, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.


This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.


Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”


So the city was filled with the confusion; and they rushed together into the theater, dragging with them Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians who were Paul's companions in travel.


After the uproar ceased, Paul sent for the disciples and having exhorted them took leave of them and departed for Macedonia.


You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities, and to those who were with me.


Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the city treasurer, and our brother Quartus, greet you.


I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to come back to you from Macedonia and have you send me on my way to Judea.


And when I was with you and was in want, I did not burden any one, for my needs were supplied by the brethren who came from Macedonia. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way.


but my mind could not rest because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia.


We want you to know, brethren, about the grace of God which has been shown in the churches of Macedonia,


and not only that, but he has been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work which we are carrying on, for the glory of the Lord and to show our good will.


For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.


Erastus remained at Corinth; Trophimus I left ill at Miletus.
