When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel, before the Son of man comes.


In those days Peter stood up among the brethren (the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty), and said,


Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They sent Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren,


And he came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer; but his father was a Greek.


The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea; and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue.


Those who conducted Paul brought him as far as Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him as soon as possible, they departed.


And some of them were persuaded, and joined Paul and Silas; as did a great many of the devout Greeks and not a few of the leading women.


And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brethren before the city authorities, crying, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also,


When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with preaching, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.


And having sent into Macedonia two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.


There he spent three months, and when a plot was made against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.


but his disciples took him by night and let him down over the wall, lowering him in a basket.


And when the brethren knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him off to Tarsus.


As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine,


This is why I left you in Crete, that you might amend what was defective, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you,


And she said to them, “Go into the hills, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned; then afterward you may go your way.”
