21 If any one purifies himself from what is ignoble, then he will be a vessel for noble use, consecrated and useful to the master of the house, ready for any good work.

In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and earthenware, and some for noble use, some for ignoble.

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.


so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold which though perishable is tested by fire, may redound to praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.


And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
