11 Joab said to the man who told him, “What, you saw him! Why then did you not strike him there to the ground? I would have been glad to give you ten pieces of silver and a girdle.”

For the enemy has pursued me; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.


Such are the ways of all who get gain by violence; it takes away the life of its possessors.
