12 O our God, wilt thou not execute judgment upon them? For we are powerless against this great multitude that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon thee.”

Then she said, “Pray let the king invoke the Lord your God, that the avenger of blood slay no more, and my son be not destroyed.” He said, “As the Lord lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the ground.”


And now, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, to tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.


When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was round about the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”


Meanwhile all the men of Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.


But my eyes are toward thee, O Lord God; in thee I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!


My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.


Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people; from deceitful and unjust men deliver me!


Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift thyself up against the fury of my enemies; awake, O my God; thou hast appointed a judgment.


The Lord judges the peoples; judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness and according to the integrity that is in me.


Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before thee!


Rise up, O judge of the earth; render to the proud their deserts!


He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.


He will not fail or be discouraged till he has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands wait for his law.


“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.


Let the nations bestir themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the nations round about.


Then I said, ‘I am cast out from thy presence; how shall I again look upon thy holy temple?’


For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none remaining, bond or free.


Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! He who sat upon it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.


I therefore have not sinned against you, and you do me wrong by making war on me; the Lord, the Judge, decide this day between the people of Israel and the people of Ammon.”


And Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us; for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few.”


And I tell him that I am about to punish his house for ever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.
