who was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our justification.


Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God.


If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit which dwells in you.


For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,


Not that we lord it over your faith; we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith.


For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him, but in dealing with you we shall live with him by the power of God.


For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father;


Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed be every one who hangs on a tree” —


in whom we have boldness and confidence of access through our faith in him.


who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.


And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.


how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.


for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


You have condemned, you have killed the righteous man; he does not resist you.


in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison,


Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same thought, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,


For this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead, that though judged in the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like God.


If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
