11 And he went up to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there; and David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like a bursting flood.” Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim.

And David inquired of God, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Wilt thou give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Go up, and I will give them into your hand.”


And they left their gods there, and David gave command, and they were burned.


As through a wide breach they come; amid the crash they roll on.


Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;


who givest victory to kings, who rescuest David thy servant.


for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm give them victory; but thy right hand, and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance; for thou didst delight in them.


The waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen and all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea; not so much as one of them remained.


For the Lord will rise up as on Mount Perazim, he will be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; to do his deed—strange is his deed! and to work his work—alien is his work!


and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it.”
