But if it was stolen, restitution shall be made to its owner.


When someone borrows an animal from another and it is injured or dies, the owner not being present, full restitution shall be made.


Then I said, “Ah Lord God! I have never defiled myself; from my youth up until now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by animals, nor has carrion flesh come into my mouth.”

The lion has torn enough for his whelps and strangled prey for his lionesses; he has filled his caves with prey and his dens with torn flesh.
