But he shall save the needy from the sword of their mouth, and the poor from the hand of the violent.


Thou shalt he hidden from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not fear calamity when it cometh.


The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord's throne is in heaven: His eyes look on the poor man: his eyelids examine the sons of men.


Let their way become dark and slippery; and let the angel of the Lord pursue them.


They said in their heart, the whole kindred of them together: Let us abolish all the festival days of God from the land.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: they that love it, shall eat the fruits thereof.


I turned myself to other things, and I saw the oppressions that are done under the sun, and the tears of the innocent, and they had no comforter; and they were not able to resist their violence, being destitute of help from any.


Moreover there is the king that reigneth over all the land subject to him.


It shall be for a sign and for a testimony to the Lord of hosts, in the land of Egypt. For they shall cry to the Lord because of the oppressor: and he shall send them a Saviour and a defender, to deliver them.


Now will I rise up, saith the Lord. Now will I be exalted: now will I lift up myself.


As for his father, because he oppressed and offered violence to his brother and wrought evil in the midst of his people, behold, he is dead in his own iniquity.


They returned, that they might be without yoke: they became like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword, for the rage of their tongue. This is their derision in the land of Egypt.


Behold the hire of the labourers, who have reaped down your fields, which by fraud has been kept back by you, crieth: and the cry of them hath entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.


And saying these things, they cast away out of their coasts all the idols of strange gods and served the Lord their God. And he was touched with their miseries.
