So they arose in the evening, to go to the Syrian camp, And when they were come to the first part of the camp of the Syrians, they found no man there.


The sound of dread is always in his ears: and when there is peace he always suspecteth treason.


he that hath not put out his money to usury, nor taken bribes against the innocent: He that doth these things shall not be moved for ever.


WOE to them that go down to Egypt for help, trusting in horses, and putting their confidence in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong: and have not trusted in the Holy One of Israel, and have not sought after the Lord.


And how wilt thou stand against the face of the judge of one place, of the least of my master's servants? But if thou trust in Egypt, in chariots and in horsemen:


Her hirelings also that lived in the midst of her, like fatted calves are turned back, and are fled away together. And they could not stand: for the day of their slaughter is come upon them, the time of their visitation.


And I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, as it were the voice of the most high God. When they walked, it was like the voice of a multitude, like the noise of an army: and when they stood, their wings were let down.


And the sound of the wings of the cherubims was heard even to the outward court as the voice of God Almighty speaking.


And they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was as the noise of chariots and many horses running to battle.


Standing every man in his place round about the enemies' camp. So all the camp was troubled: and crying out and howling they fled away.


And there was a miracle in the camp, through the fields: yea and all the people of their garrison, who had gone out to plunder, were amazed. And the earth trembled: and it happened as a miracle from God.


David spoke to Achimelech the Hethite, and Abisai the son of Sarvia the brother of Joab, saying: Who will go down with me to Saul into the camp? And Abisai said: I will go with thee.
