I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, and my soul shall be joyful in my God: for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation: and with the robe of justice he hath covered me, as a bridegroom decked with a crown, and as a bride adorned with her jewels.


To appoint to the mourners of Sion, and to give them a crown for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, a garment of praise for the spirit of grief: and they shall be called in it the mighty ones of justice, the planting of the Lord to glorify him.


Come to me all you that labor and are burdened, and I will refresh you.


And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to grow sorrowful and to be sad.


Be glad and rejoice for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.


And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.


But yet rejoice not in this, that spirits are subject unto you: but rejoice in this, that your names are written in heaven.


And the angel said to them: Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy that shall be to all the people:


So also you now indeed have sorrow: but I will see you again and your heart shall rejoice. And your joy no man shall take from you.


These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world.


(14:21) Confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the faith: and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.


Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer.


And not only so: but also we glory in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received reconciliation.


By whom also we have access through faith into this grace wherein we stand: and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God.


That I have great sadness and continual sorrow in my heart.


For that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation worketh for us above measure, exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.


As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing: as needy, yet enriching many: as having nothing and possessing all things.


But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity,


For indeed he longed after you all: and was sad, for that you had heard that he was sick.


For we are the circumcision, who in spirit serve God and glory in Christ Jesus, not having confidence in the flesh.


Rejoice in the Lord always: again, I say, rejoice.


And you became followers of us and of the Lord: receiving the word in much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Ghost:


My brethren, count it all joy, when you shall fall into divers temptations:


But let the brother of low condition glory in his exaltation:


Be afflicted and mourn and weep: let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into sorrow.


For it is better doing well (if such be the will of God) to suffer than doing ill.


But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore and watch in prayers.


But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you and confirm you and establish you.


My heart hath rejoiced in the Lord, and my horn is exalted in my God: my mouth is enlarged over my enemies: because I have joyed in thy salvation.
