A poor person is hated even by his neighbour, but there are many who love the rich.


The wealth of the rich is his fortified city; in his imagination it is like a high wall.


All the brothers of a poor person hate him; how much more do his friends keep their distance from him! He may pursue them with words, but they are not there.


because wisdom is protection as silver is protection; but the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant  or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,  who richly provides us with all things  to enjoy.
