32 You will not incur guilt because of it once you have presented the best part of it, but you must not defile the Israelites’ holy offerings, so that you will not die.’

These must be worn by Aaron and his sons whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary area, so that they do not incur guilt  and die. This is to be a permanent statute  for Aaron and for his future descendants.


Anyone who eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has profaned what is holy to the Lord. That person is to be cut off from his people.


‘Tell Aaron and his sons to deal respectfully with the holy offerings of the Israelites that they have consecrated to me, so they do not profane my holy name;  I am the Lord.


‘By presenting defiled food on my altar.’ ‘How have we defiled you? ’ you ask. When you say, ‘The Lord’s table is contemptible.’


The Israelites must never again come near the tent of meeting, or they will incur guilt and die.


then you and your household may eat it anywhere. It is your wage in return for your work at the tent of meeting.


The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron,


So, then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sin against the body  and blood of the Lord.


For whoever eats and drinks without recognising the body,  eats and drinks judgement  on himself.
