‘Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the shepherds who tend my people: You have scattered my flock,  banished them, and have not attended to them.  I am about to attend to you because of your evil acts’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration.


The people of the land have practised extortion and committed robbery.  They have oppressed the poor and needy and unlawfully exploited the resident foreigner.


I was naked and you clothed me; I was ill and you took care of me; I was in prison and you visited me.”


For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink;


‘Then they too will answer, “Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or ill, or in prison, and not help you? ”


After some time had passed, Paul said to Barnabas, ‘Let’s go back and visit the brothers and sisters in every town  where we have preached the word of the Lord and see how they’re doing.’


Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.


Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated,  as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.


They stopped  to go in and spend the night in Gibeah. The Levite went in and sat down in the city square, but no one took them into their home to spend the night.
