37 A great windstorm  arose, and the waves  were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped.

‘Very well,’ the Lord told Satan, ‘everything he owns is in your power. However, do not lay a hand on Job himself.’ So Satan left the Lord’s presence.


Suddenly a powerful wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on the young people so that they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you! ’


But the Lord threw  a great wind onto the sea,  and such a great storm arose on the sea that the ship threatened to break apart.


So they left the crowd and took him along since he was in the boat. And other boats were with him.


He was in the stern, sleeping  on the cushion. So they woke him up  and said to him, ‘Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re going to die? ’


But they struck a sandbar and ran the ship aground. The bow jammed fast and remained immovable, while the stern began to break up by the pounding of the waves.


Three times I was beaten with rods.  Once I received a stoning.  Three times I was shipwrecked.  I have spent a night and a day in the open sea.
