1 He  set out from there and went to the region of Judea  and across the Jordan.  Then crowds converged on him again, and as was his custom he taught  them again.

In addition to the Teacher being a wise man, he constantly taught the people knowledge; he weighed, explored, and arranged many proverbs.


They have turned their backs to me and not their faces.  Though I taught them time and time again,  , they do not listen and receive discipline.


At that time Jesus said to the crowds, ‘Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal,   to capture me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple, and you didn’t arrest me.


Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee,  teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every  disease and sickness  among the people.


They  went into Capernaum,  and straight away he entered the synagogue  on the Sabbath  and began to teach.


Some Pharisees  came to test  him, asking, ‘Is it lawful  for a man to divorce  his wife? ’


While  Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked,  ‘How can the scribes   say that the Messiah   is the son of David?


Every day I was among you, teaching in the temple,   and you didn’t arrest me. But the Scriptures   must be fulfilled.’


Jesus  went out again beside the sea. The whole crowd was coming to him, and he was teaching  them.


He taught them many things in parables,  and in his teaching  he said to them,


When the Sabbath  came, he began to teach  in the synagogue,  and many who heard him were astonished. ‘Where did this man get these things? ’ they said. ‘What is this wisdom  that has been given to him, and how are these miracles  performed by his hands?


When he went ashore, he saw a large crowd and had compassion  on them, because they were like sheep  without a shepherd. Then he began to teach them many things.


And he was amazed  at their unbelief.  He was going around the villages teaching.


So he departed again across the Jordan  to the place where John  had been baptising earlier, and he remained there.


Then after that, he said to the disciples, ‘Let’s go to Judea   again.’


‘I have spoken openly to the world,’ Jesus answered him. ‘I have always taught in the synagogue   and in the temple,   where all the Jews gather, and I haven’t spoken anything in secret.
