Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry sheaves but go hungry.


From the city, men   groan; the mortally wounded cry for help, yet God pays no attention to this crime.


They float  on the surface of the water. Their section of the land is cursed, so that they never go to their vineyards.


Joy and rejoicing  have been removed from the orchard; no one is singing or shouting for joy in the vineyards. No one tramples grapes  in the winepresses. I have put an end to the shouting.


Woe for the one who builds his palace through unrighteousness, his upstairs rooms through injustice, who makes his neighbour serve without pay and will not give him his wages,


‘Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out grain.


Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers  who mowed your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Armies.
