Then Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and they quickly brought him from the dungeon.  , He shaved, changed his clothes, and went to Pharaoh.


King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials,  surrendered to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.


Jehoiakim rested with his ancestors, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place.


They slaughtered Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes. Finally, the king of Babylon blinded Zedekiah, bound him in bronze chains, and took him to Babylon.


He sets the lowly on high, and mourners are lifted to safety.


I saw all the living, who move about under the sun, follow  a second youth who succeeds him.


The Lord’s anointed, the breath of our life,  , was captured in their traps. We had said about him, ‘We will live under his protection among the nations.’


While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven: ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared that the kingdom has departed from you.


He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the rubbish heap. He seats them with noblemen and gives them a throne of honour. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; he has set the world on them.
