Moses was eighty years old  and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.


‘When he was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the Israelites.


After forty years had passed, an angel  appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in the flame of a burning bush.


This man led them out and performed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt,  at the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.


saying, ‘I am now 120 years old;  I can no longer act as your leader.  The Lord has told me, “You will not cross the Jordan.”


The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab for thirty days.  Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses came to an end.
