When a person’s ways please the  Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.


and they were baptised by him in the River Jordan, confessing their sins.

I did, in fact, baptise the household  of Stephanas;  beyond that, I don’t recall whether I baptised anyone else.


For you were called  to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity  for the flesh, but serve one another through love.


For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith  working through love.


Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you (not as the removal of dirt from the body,  but the pledge  of a good conscience towards God) through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
