53 So King Solomon sent for him, and they took him down from the altar. He came and paid homage to King Solomon, and Solomon said to him, ‘Go to your home.’

On the third day a man with torn clothes and dust on his head  came from Saul’s camp. When he came to David, he fell to the ground and paid homage.


However, the king added, ‘He may return to his house, but he may not see my face.’ So Absalom returned to his house, but he did not see the king.


Absalom resided in Jerusalem for two years but never saw the king.


Joab went to the king and told him. So David summoned Absalom, who came to the king and paid homage with his face to the ground before him. Then the king kissed Absalom.


Bathsheba knelt low and paid homage to the king, and he asked, ‘What do you want? ’


Bathsheba knelt low with her face to the ground, paying homage to the king,  and said, ‘May my lord King David live for ever! ’


Then Solomon said, ‘If he is a man of character, not a single hair of his will fall to the ground,  but if evil is found in him, he dies.’


As the time approached for David to die,  he ordered his son Solomon,


Then the king summoned Shimei  and said to him, ‘Build a house for yourself in Jerusalem and live there, but don’t leave there and go anywhere else.


My son, fear the  Lord, as well as the king, and don’t associate with rebels,
