The sons of Aram were Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.


In truth, after he began to be ninety-nine years of age, the Lord appeared to him. And he said to him: "I am the Almighty God. Walk in my sight and become complete.


And he said to him, "Do not extend your hand over the boy, and do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, since you have not spared your only begotten son for my sake."


Then Dishan had sons: Uz and Aran.


Then, on the third day, he brought them out of prison, and he said: "Do as I have said, and you will live. For I fear God.


These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man, and yet he was predominate among his generations, for he walked with God.


"I beg you, O Lord, I beseech you, remember how I have walked before you in truth, and with a perfect heart, and how I have done what is pleasing before you." And then Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.


The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.


The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.


And the Lord said to him, "Have you not considered my servant, Job? For there is no one like him in the land, a simple and honest man, fearing God and withdrawing from evil."


And the Lord said to Satan, "Have you not considered my servant, Job, that there is no one like him in the land, a simple and honest man, fearing God and withdrawing from evil, and still retaining his innocence? Yet you have stirred me against him, so that I would afflict him to no purpose."


And he said to man, "Behold the fear of the Lord. Such is wisdom. And to withdraw from evil, this is understanding."


Where is your reverence, your fortitude, your patience, and the perfection of your ways?


And if I now became simple, my soul would be ignorant even of this, and my life would weary me.


Then provide, from all of the people, men capable and fearing God, in whom there is truth and who hate avarice, and appoint from them tribunes, and leaders of hundreds, and of fifties, and of tens,


The wise fear, and so turn away from evil. The foolish leap ahead with confidence.


One who walks on a virtuous journey, and who fears God, is despised by him who advances along a disreputable way.


The path of the just turns away from evils. He who guards his soul preserves his way.


By mercy and truth, iniquity is redeemed. And by the fear of the Lord, one turns away from evil.


The just who walks in his simplicity shall leave behind him blessed sons.


Do not seem wise to yourself. Fear God, and withdraw from evil.


The fear of the Lord hates evil. I detest arrogance, and pride, and every wicked way, and a mouth with a double tongue.


and the entire populace in general: all the kings of the land of the south, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,


SIN. Be glad and rejoice, O daughter of Edom, who dwells in the Land of Uz. The cup will also pass to you; you will be inebriated as well as naked.


And if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver their own souls by their justice, says the Lord of hosts.


and if Noah, and Daniel, and Job were in its midst, as I live, says the Lord God, they will deliver neither son, nor daughter, but they will deliver only their own souls by their justice.


Now they were both just before God, progressing in all of the commandments and the justifications of the Lord without blame.


You shall be perfect and without blemish with the Lord your God.


Consider that we beatify those who have endured. You have heard of the patient suffering of Job. And you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is merciful and compassionate.


Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
