My being is in the midst of lions; I lie among those who breathe fire, Whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.
A perverse man sends forth strife, And a whisperer separates intimate friends.
Winking with his eye to plot perversity, Moving his lips he shall bring about evil.
A witness of Beliya‛al scorns right-ruling, And the mouth of the wrong ones Devours wickedness.
Perverseness is in his heart, Plotting evil at all times, He sends out strife.
Woe to those who draw crookedness with cords of falsehood, and sin as with wagon ropes,
“See, it is not from יהוה of hosts that peoples labour only for fire, and nations weary themselves for naught,
And the tongue is a fire, the world of unrighteousness. Among our members the tongue is set, the one defiling the entire body, and setting on fire the wheel of life, and it is set on fire by GĕHinnom.
“And now, know and see what you should do, for evil has been resolved against our master, and against all his household, and he is too much of a son of Beliya‛al to speak to.”
