And Dawiḏ said to all the assembly of Yisra’ĕl, “If it seems good to you, and if it is of יהוה our Elohim, let us send out to our brothers everywhere who are left in all the land of Yisra’ĕl, and with them to the priests and Lĕwites who are in their cities of their open lands, and let them be gathered to us;
For the Lĕwites left their open lands and their possessions and came to Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim, for Yaroḇ‛am and his sons had rejected them from serving as priests unto יהוה,
And for the sons of Aharon the priests, who were in the fields of the open land of their cities, in each and every city, there were men who were called by name to distribute portions to all the males among the priests and to all who were listed by genealogies among the Lĕwites.
And I learned that the portions for the Lĕwites had not been given them, for each of the Lĕwites and the singers who did the work had gone back to his field.
“So the possession of the Lĕwites and the possession of the city are in the midst of what belongs to the prince – between the border of Yehuḏah and the border of Binyamin, it belongs to the prince.
“And by the border of Yehuḏah, from the east side to the west, is the contribution which you offer up, twenty-five thousand cubits in width, and in length the same as one of the portions, from the east side to the west, with the set-apart place in its midst.
And יהוה spoke to Mosheh in the desert plains of Mo’aḇ by the Yardĕn of Yeriḥo, saying,
“And they shall have the cities to dwell in, and their open land for their cattle, and for their herds, and for all their livestock.
“And when the Lĕwite comes from one of your gates, from where he has sojourned among all Yisra’ĕl, and shall come with all the desire of his being to the place which יהוה chooses,
