even as the Son of Aḏam did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
But the rest said, “Leave it, let us see if Ěliyahu comes to save Him.”
And crying out with a loud voice, יהושע said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” And having said this, He breathed His last.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
even as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.
A bowl of sour wine stood there, and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and held it to His mouth.
So when יהושע took the sour wine He said, “It has been accomplished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself similarly shared in the same, so that by means of His death He might destroy him having the power of death, that is, the devil,
who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His reverent fear,
how much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself unblemished to Elohim, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?
