Let Him take His rod away from me, and let not His dread frighten me.

That He might take His rod away from [threatening] me, and that the fear of Him might not terrify me.
Let him take his rod away from me, And let not his terror make me afraid:
remove his rod from me, so his fury wouldn’t frighten me.
Let him take his staff away from me, and let not the fear of him terrify me.
Let him take his rod away from me and let not his fear terrify me.
Should not His excellence make you afraid, and the dread of Him fall upon you?
Therefore I am troubled at His presence; I consider, and I am afraid of Him.
For I am in dread of destruction from Ěl, and from His excellence I could not escape.
See, no fear of me should alarm you, nor should pressure by me be heavy on you.
“At this too my heart trembles, and leaps from its place.
Turn aside Your stroke from me; I am overcome by the blow of Your hand.”
“When You chastise man for crookedness with reproofs, You consume what he loves, like a moth; All men are but a breath. Selah.
“Then I shall visit their transgression with the rod, And their crookedness with flogging.
Who knows the power of Your displeasure? And your wrath, according to the fear of You?
